RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness of Company ABC premises and staff uniforms and manages the operations of the canteen.

This position is required to clean the Company ABC facilities and supervise the outside caterer, including the preparation of the canteen requisition lists and statements of income and expenditure.

ORGANIZATION STRUCTURE:

This position reports to the Administrative Officer and receives verbal direction from this individual.

This position does not supervise or direct any staff (no direct reports).

This position receives indirect guidance from:

·         Administrative Officer: requisition of the canteen supplies

·         Head of Finance and Accounts: recording sales and expenditure of the canteen

·         Deputy General Manager: staff appraisal issues

·         Accounts (Remitting the canteen cash and sales book)

·         Cleaning and operational procedures

Challenges:

The position encounters frequent problems related to:

  • Inadequate time due to the workload derived from the large inflow of customers. The inflow is unpredictable.

This position does not encounter any difficult problems.

Contacts:

This position has contact with the following individuals, departments and/or external contacts on the following basis:

·         Accountant/Cashier: Relating to the sales and expenditure of the canteen, on a monthly basis

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

·         Ensure that the inside of the office premises are always clean

o          daily dusting, sweeping, mopping and removal of trash

·         Ensure that the staff of the Pharmaceutical Main Store (PMS), Technical Service Department (TSD) and Production Unit (PU) have clean uniforms for use

o          ironing the uniforms from the respective departments

·         Serve staff members and customers with tea and eats as and when required

o          preparing tea and serving it with eats to Company ABC staff and customers

·         Ensure that all staff members get lunch

o          communicating to the outdoor caterer how many members of staff will have late lunch

·         Ensure that the Canteen has adequate supplies

o          regularly checking and making a requisition list for the Canteen supplies

o          purchasing the eats e.g. cakes from suppliers on behalf of Company ABC

·         Ensure the cleanliness of the Canteen

o          daily cleaning of the canteen worktops, utensils, cutlery and glasses

·         Responsible for the financial accountability of the Canteen sales

o          reconciling the Canteen cash at hand with the recorded sales

WORKING CONDITIONS:

This position does not encounter any difficult working conditions.
