Drug Free Workplace

Employer ABC is committed to maintaining a drug-free workplace.  The unlawful possession, use, distribution, sale or manufacture of controlled substances is prohibited.

PROCEDURES

Violation of this policy will result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination.  At the discretion of the Employer, any employee convicted of a work-related drug offense will be disciplined and/or required to complete a drug rehabilitation program as a condition of continued employment.

The illegal use of controlled substances can jeopardize the health of employees; impair job performance and endanger the safety of other employees.  Employees engaged in the illegal use of controlled substances are encouraged to seek professional treatment.  Any employee of ABC is encouraged to contact Personnel for information about assistance.

As a condition of employment, employees must notify their supervisors if they are convicted of a criminal drug offense within five days of the conviction.

This policy is disseminated under the terms and conditions of the Federal Drug-Free Workplace Act of 1988.  Employer ABC will continue to maintain a drug-free environment by adhering to the above policy and providing on-going drug awareness programs.
