Employer ABC observes the following
holidays: New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Day, Memorial Day, Independence
Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.The CEO may authorize additional holidays and
extend the length of any holiday.The
dates of holiday observance will be announced by Administration.
Employees required to work on any of
the observed holidays listed above will have the hours worked, at the
supervisor’s discretion, charged either to annual leave, sick leave, or other
Holidays will be observed on the
calendar day on which each holiday falls except:
·A holiday falling on Saturday will be
observed on the preceding Friday.
·A holiday falling on Sunday will be
observed on the following Monday.
·Employees regularly scheduled to work a
seven-day-per-week rotation will observe Saturday and Sunday holidays on the
day they fall.
Every reasonable effort should be made
to allow employees to observe religious holidays.This can be done by allowing employees to
substitute an observed holiday for a religious holiday, or by using personal
leave, annual leave, or leave without pay.
Employees must be in pay status the
last scheduled day of work prior to the holiday and the first scheduled day of
work after the holiday in order to receive holiday pay.
For part time employees, holiday pay is
pro-rated based on the previous four weeks of employment.
