Holidays

Eligibility

All employees are eligible.  Each year Human Resources will announce the calendar days on which holidays are observed.

ABC holidays are:

·         Memorial Day.

·         Independence Day.

·         Labor Day.

·         Thanksgiving Day.

·         Friday following Thanksgiving Day.

Holiday Pay

Employees are paid at their regular rate of pay and part-time employees receive prorated pay based on the previous four weeks of employment.

Employees absent either the day before or after the day off, or both, will receive holiday pay.

Terminated employees do not receive holiday pay unless they work the day after the holiday.

If December 25 falls on a Saturday or Sunday, employees scheduled to work are paid one and one-half times for hours worked on December 25 and are not entitled to any additional compensatory time off.

Flextime

Departments considering flextime scheduling should contact Human Resources for additional information prior to the implementation of flextime.

Records

Departments are responsible for maintaining holiday records and should insure that time is reported accurately.
