Personal Leave

POLICY

Employer ABC will provide employees time off with pay to conduct personal business that cannot be conducted outside working hours.

During each year, an employee may take up to two days of personal leave with pay.  Supervisors will authorize leave when convenient to the department.  Notice should be given three workdays in advance except in the case of emergencies where shorter notice may be given.

Personal leave days are not accrued beyond the fiscal year and there is no provision for carry over.

Personal leave will not be paid upon termination of employment.

PROCEDURE

Employees must submit a request to use personal leave on a Leave of Absence Form.  The request must indicate the start and end times and dates of the leave.  The request must be submitted in advance of the request and must be approved by the supervisor.

Departments are responsible for maintaining records of personal leave usage and employee balances.
